About Broadstairs

Broadstairs is a traditional English seaside town with an association with Charles Dickens that includes a Museum, Bleak House and a Dickens festival.

There is a traditional high street with a good variety of independent retailers, together with many fabulous restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars. There is a bandstand overlooking the main Viking bay beach, to which there is a lift to provide easy access.

Broadstairs’ Viking Bay is one of the best beaches in the South East. It is a deep sandy beach that is well sheltered from all but the worst winds – making it ideal for sunbathing, playing and swimming. During the summer there is entertainment on the beach for young children including a low tide rock pool, punch and judy, donkeys, trampolines and a lifeguard service. There are also weekly firework displays.

A promenade offers scenic coastal walks to adjacent bays and and the local area is spectacular for walking and cycling. For the more serious cyclist there are various marked trails.

In early August the town holds its immensely popular Folk Week which attracts musicians and artists worldwide.

Additionally there a number of other beaches to explore within easy walking or driving distance.

We also have a small cinema in Broadstairs showing all the latest films.
